1. What is the Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Paramedical Institute?
The Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Paramedical Institute offers career-oriented paramedical and allied healthcare courses designed to provide students with theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on clinical training in a hospital environment. Under the Paramedical Institute, different constituent units operate in accordance with their respective accreditation, affiliation and regulatory frameworks. At present, the Institute has the following two constituent units: a. Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Vocational Training Centre (VTC) – accredited by the National Council of Vocational and Research Training (NCVRT), New Delhi. b. Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Skill Development Institute (SDI) – registered under the Maharashtra State Board of Skill, Vocational Education and Training (MSBSVET).
2. Which courses are offered by the Institute?
At present, admissions are open for the following courses offered by the Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Vocational Training Centre (VTC) a. Certificate Course in Operation Theatre Assistant b. Certificate Course in ECG Technology c. Certificate Course in Dialysis Technician d. Certificate Course in Medical Laboratory Technology e. Certificate Course in Radiology and Imaging Technology The list of courses may be revised or expanded from time to time, subject to approval of the competent authorities.
3. What is the duration of the courses?
The duration of the above certificate courses is one year. The course includes classroom teaching, laboratory/practical training, and hands-on clinical exposure as applicable to the respective course
4. Who can apply for admission?
Candidates who fulfil the prescribed educational and eligibility requirements for the respective course may apply for admission. The detailed eligibility criteria, required educational qualification, age criteria and other admission requirements is displayed in the respective course information and admission notice.
5. How can I apply for admission?
Eligible candidates can submit their application online within the prescribed time by filling up the application form, upload required documents and paying the admission form as given in detail in Apply Now link of Admission section of this site.
6. What documents are required at the time of admission?
Generally, candidates may be required to submit: • SSC (10th) Certificate & Mark sheet • HSC (12th) Certificate & Mark Sheet, if applicable • School/college leaving or transfer certificate, wherever applicable • Aadhar Card • Passport-size photographs • Caste/category certificate, wherever applicable • Medical fitness certificate • Proof of payment of application fee • Character Certificate (issued within six months) • Any other documents prescribed by the Institute Candidates should refer to the latest admission notification for the final list of required documents.
7. What is the fee structure for the courses?
The course fee varies according to the course and is prescribed by the Institute from time to time. The detailed fee structure will be displayed on the website/admission (Course Section) before each admission. Students are required to pay the prescribed fees within the stipulated time.
8. Can the course fee be paid in instalments?
Yes, subject to the fee-payment policy of the Institute. Where instalment payment is permitted, the fee may be paid in the prescribed number of instalments and within the dates notified by the Institute. Students must ensure that each instalment is paid on or before the due date. Admission/continuation of training may be subject to payment of the applicable fees within the prescribed schedule.
9. What payments are required at the time of admission?
Depending upon the applicable fee structure, students may be required to pay: • Application/registration fee, if applicable • Admission fee • Examination fee, if applicable • Uniform/ID card charges, if applicable • Hostel and mess charges, if applicable • Any other prescribed institutional charges The exact amount payable will be communicated in the official fee structure/admission notice.
10. What are the available modes of fee payment?
Fees may be paid through the payment modes authorized by the Institute, such as: • Online payment • Bank transfer • UPI/digital payment • Other modes specifically notified by the Institute Students should retain the payment receipt/transaction acknowledgement for future reference.
11. Is the fee refundable if a student cancels admission?
Refund of fees, if applicable, will be governed by the refund and cancellation policy of the Institute and the rules applicable to the particular course. Students are advised to read the refund policy carefully before confirming admission.
12. Will students receive practical and clinical training?
Yes. The Institute is supported by a hospital environment that provides students with opportunities for practical learning and clinical exposure relevant to their respective courses. Students will receive hands-on training under the guidance of qualified faculty/trainers and healthcare professionals, as applicable.
13. What are the employment opportunities after completing the course?
Paramedical professionals play an important role in the healthcare system and work alongside doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Depending upon the course completed, career opportunities may be available in: • Hospitals • Diagnostic centres • Pathology laboratories • Dialysis centres • Operation theatres • ECG/cardiology departments • Radiology and imaging centres • Healthcare institutions • Clinics and other healthcare facilities Employment will depend upon the student's qualification, skills, performance, experience and the requirements of the employer.
14. Does completion of the course guarantee a job?
No. Completion of a course does not automatically guarantee employment. However, the Institute aims to provide students with appropriate theoretical knowledge, practical skills and clinical exposure to improve their employability and prepare them for relevant healthcare-sector opportunities.
15. Does the Institute provide placement assistance?
The Institute intends to facilitate career guidance and placement assistance, wherever possible, through its institutional and industry/healthcare connections. Suitable candidates may be absorbed within the hospital at the end of their courses, if their performance is found to be suitable. Students will be informed about suitable employment opportunities, interviews, recruitment drives and career guidance programmers.
16. Is hostel accommodation available?
No, at present no hostel facility is available for paramedical students.
17. Are hostel and mess charges included in the course fee?
Not applicable
18. Can students from outside Ahilyanagar apply?
Yes. Eligible students from other districts and states may apply, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility and admission requirements. Such students will be required to make their own arrangements for accommodation and related expenses during the course of their study.
19. What is the medium of instruction?
The medium of instruction will be as prescribed by the Institute and the concerned affiliating/recognizing authority. Students may also receive appropriate support for understanding technical and clinical terminology.
20. Will students receive a certificate after completing the course?
Yes. Students who successfully complete the prescribed course requirements, including attendance, practical training, assessments/examinations and other requirements, will be eligible for the certificate issued/recognized under the applicable affiliation or authorization framework.
21. Is attendance compulsory?
Yes. Regular attendance is essential because the courses include theoretical, practical and clinical components. Students must maintain the minimum attendance of 80%.
22. Will students receive practical training in a real hospital environment?
Yes. Wherever applicable to the course, students will receive supervised practical and clinical exposure in relevant hospital departments and facilities. This exposure is intended to help students develop the practical competencies required for working in healthcare settings.
23. What facilities are available for students?
The Institute provides access to facilities required for academic and practical training, including classrooms, laboratories/training facilities and clinical exposure through the associated hospital environment, subject to the requirements of the respective course.
24. What happens if a student fails to pay the fee by the due date?
Students are required to pay all applicable fees within the prescribed schedule. Failure to pay fees on time may result in late-payment charges, withholding of certain academic facilities or other action as per the Institute's rules. Students facing genuine difficulties should contact the Institute office before the due date.
25. Can a student pay the entire course fee at once?
Yes. Where permitted, students may pay the entire applicable course fee at the time of admission or within the prescribed payment period.
26. Are there any additional charges apart from the course fee?
Additional charges may apply for certain services or facilities, such as examination/assessment, uniform, study material or other services, wherever applicable. All such charges will be communicated transparently to students before they become payable.
